SigmaDSP ADAU145x DSP board (DSP-ADAU1452)

A standalone or SPI controlled DSP board supporting the ADAU1450, ADAU1451, ADAU1452 DSP chips from Analog Devices. This features up to four input audio serial ports and four output audio serial ports. Each serial port supports I2S, TDM, and left and right justified data formats. Each serial port also features highly configurable clock inputs or outputs. With each set of input/output serial ports two support TDM16 data and two support TDM8 data formats allowing up to 48 input and 48 output audio channels. The DSP board supports both standalone selfboot mode, once an EEPROM is fitted and programmed, or control via SPI. There is also a slave SPI output for control of external boards such as the ADAU1966 DAC board.

Features and Overview

All chip features:
  • Four input serial ports (I2S/TDM/left and right justified)
  • Four output serial ports (I2S/TDM/left and right justified)
  • Up to 48 channel 32bit digital audio I/O (using a mixture of I2S or TDM)
  • External MCLK or on board oscillator with MCLK fanout to external boards
  • Six 10 bit ADC inputs for use with external controls
  • Mater and Slave SPI connections for external interfacing
ADAU1451 or ADAU1452 features:
  • Optical and coaxial SPDIF input and output options
  • 8 asynchronous sample rate converters (ASRC) allowing for a mixture of input/output sample rates
The lower end chip (ADAU1450) is ideal for simple setups such as analogue input and output crossovers where the sample rate through a system are the same. The difference with the higher end chips is faster core clock, more data memory and the addition of SPDIF and ASRCs. These additions allow you to run more complex DSP solutions at higher sample rate, the use of digital data input/output, and mixing different sample rates between boards. For example if one board outputs at 44.1kHz this could feed an ASRC set to output 192kHz to a DAC.

  • An EVAL-ADUSB2EBZ or equivalent device for programming
